Pumpkin Science

Today our class had a special visit from Mr. Mussleman.  He brought with him a pumpkin from the Science Center.  With that one pumpkin, we learned many pumpkin facts and got to watch many different experiments.
1. We learned about the parts of a pumpkin/ plant.

2. We learned that a pumpkin floats because it is hollow on the inside, which makes it buoyant.


3.  We learned about the fire triangle by making a Jack-0-Lantern. There are three things needed in order to make a fire : Fuel, Oxygen, and Heat.



4. We learned about chemical reactions with a surprising trick from Mr. Mussleman.  Check out the video here:
