South America

We have taken a virtual trip to our first continent- South America. We have been studying the area's countries, landforms, cultures, and animals. Each student has created a poster displaying the facts they have learned along with a detailed map. The posters are amazing! Students will earn their first passport stamp this week, then we are off to Antarctica!

Great Snake!

Ms. Pavlicek came to help us end our reptile/amphibian unit with a BANG! Here are some FW teachers with the Boa Constrictor.

Dr. Seuss Day

On Friday March 1, 2013 many schools across the country participated in Read Across America Day.  This is a day to celebrate Dr. Seuss and his love for reading.  Here in room 212, we had many different activities going on.  Our class learned a lot about the life of Dr. Seuss.  We were lucky to have two special guest readers.  Kristen Russo from the Burlington School Committee came to our class to read.  Mr. Boucher from the Burlington Fire Department also came in to read Wacky Wednesday.
The second grade students were also given a task to find the 50 words used to write Green Eggs and Ham.  The best thing was to see everyone enjoying books throughout the day!  It was so much fun.  Here are a few photos from our day.

Coming Soon...

I am working on a slide show of our reptile/ amphibian projects! Hopefully I will post it soon.  I will send an email to remind you to come back and check.
