Lexington Symphony

We had a wonderful trip to the Lexington Symphony last week.  Our students were a fabulous audience.  We were given a trip through the history of music and orchestra.  Starting from monk chants and going all the way through to John WIlliam's score for the Star Wars movies.  We were introduced to many different instruments and musical pieces.  Here are some photos and videos from our trip.
***Videos will be added soon, come back and check!***
Ready for the show.

New friends

Last week the class earned a prize for great behavior.  We filled Mr. Potato Head (Stuart) a third time.   After voting, students chose to have a visiting class pet from the Burlington Science Center as their prize.  Luckily, Mrs. Pavlicek was willing and super helpful!  We now have Edgar and Alan, gerbils, visiting us for a few weeks.
We will be in charge of caring for them.  Part of this will be a need for any cardboard you have at home.  They love to nibble it.  Please send in any paper towel rolls, egg cartons, etc...  Ask your child about some of our rules and pet-sitting jobs.

Lockdown drill today

We did have a lockdown drill this morning at Francis Wyman.  The students were great and all seemed calm.  We have new procedures and new terminology for our safety protocol.  I have attached the poster including the words and procedure.  This might be a good time to discuss these new procedures with your child to answer any questions they might have. We hope there is never a time to use these protocols, however it is nice to be prepared and have a plan.
