More Trees!
Last week, we learned about the parts of the tree and examined objects from the trees in your yards and neighborhoods. This week, Ms. Pavlicek came to take us on a tree walk around Francis Wyman. We also began to examine what happens inside of the tree. We used a really cool "Tree cookie" from the science center to help us figure out the layers and rings inside the tree. Our friend Rishabh helped to act out the layers inside the tree and what happens with the change of season. Next week, we will get to make our own "Tree Cookie" necklaces. A big thank to the Burlington Science Center for all their support in helping make science real and FUN!

I would suggest put either pictures of all the kids doing leaf rubbing or do not put any. Encouragement of student matters a lot for educational purposes. I avoid looking at school teachers blogs, while my son is with me, for this reason. Kids do feel discouraged if work of their picture is not posted. I know blogspot has limited features, but there are many free web hosting services available on which a blogging software can be installed for the purpose of better presentation.
