First Day of School!

Welcome back! It was a great day here in room 216.  We are all getting to know our new classroom and classmates.  Thank you to all of you for helping to make this year start smoothly.  If you haven't yet, please send back the information sheets and all about me papers.  It is helpful for me to know bus and contact information. We started our fossil unit last week with a book, BrainPop Jr. Video, and a close look at some real fossils from the Burlington Science Center.

Don't Squash that Insect!!

After learning so much about insects, we realized how helpful these species can be to us and our environment.  So, we decided to PERSUADE others not to squash these creatures.  students worked together to research a helpful insect

Calypso Show

A HUGE THANK YOU to out PTO For a fabulous, upbeat enrichment show this morning.  Pan Loco steel Band played amazing music and put on a great show!  The students and teachers enjoyed it greatly!!!

Amazing Show

After 2 cancelations due to snow, lots of traffic, and a long bus ride...  We finally got to see an amazing performance at Whelock Family Theater.  The play, "Shrek" was a colorful, funny, musical performance that the adults enjoyed just as much as the kids.  We were lucky to be in the front rows right behind the orchestra.  Here are some pictures from the show.

Continent Books

Today we celebrated and shared our informative writing projects.  Students worked hard to research a continent, take their own notes, organize and write a report in their own words, and publish the report to share with others.  These books came out amazing!  This afternoon we shared the final products.
