After 2 cancelations due to snow, lots of traffic, and a long bus ride... We finally got to see an amazing performance at Whelock Family Theater. The play, "Shrek" was a colorful, funny, musical performance that the adults enjoyed just as much as the kids. We were lucky to be in the front rows right behind the orchestra. Here are some pictures from the show.
Today we celebrated and shared our informative writing projects. Students worked hard to research a continent, take their own notes, organize and write a report in their own words, and publish the report to share with others. These books came out amazing! This afternoon we shared the final products. Here are some pictures from this afternoon. I hope you all enjoy reading the books this weekend.
Today we got to use our new measurement skills to measure OURSELVES. Here are some pictures from our measuring practice day. Students worked together to measure each other's arms, legs, feet, hands, and bodies. After measuring, the students created a diagram of themselves labeling the lengths of the parts of their body. Practice at home tonight for tomorrow's assessment!
Mr. Mussleman came to visit us this afternoon to tell us about the earth, sun, and moon relationship. Students got to act out some of the happenings and vocabulary to help them better understand.
Thank you again to Mr. Mussleman and the Science Center!!!
Today we got some new visitors from the science center to help us with our insects study. We have some caterpillars and a Luna moth cocoon. We will be observing the life cycles of these creatures LIVE.
As we were setting up our observation journals, the moth actually hatched! I noticed a liquid on the table and Ayaan saw the moth on a chair nearby. It was a great experience for us all. He will stay with us for a couple days so we can get more observations, then we will set him free.
We will continue to observe the changes that happen with our caterpillars.
